First Stop Friday, Blowout, and a Video that is Absolutely Worth Your Time

Tomorrow, before you head to Hamtown to get Blown Out, please stop by the library for a free show with experimental rockers, Elemental and Bastion. Music starts at 7 PM.

Now for Blowout. I'm excited again, folks. The dozen hugs I got last night alone re-infused me with a passion I've honestly been missing for the last few months. So, I've got my crinkled up schedule ready to go for tonight's madness. Here's some folks I'm checking out.

Swimsuit -
Timothy Monger State Park -
Monsieur Guillaume & His Zydeco Hepcats -
Charlie Slick and Thunda Clap -
Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor -
House Phone -
Songs from the Moon -
Electric Firebabies -
Johnny Headband -
Misty Lyn and the Big Beautiful -
Greg D. McIntosh -

A quick thank you for the stacks and stacks of local music CDs I have received since I put the call out for donations. Keep them coming folks, and keep an eye out on the new shelf for a never ending flow of local music to sample.

Now I'd like to share something really special with you. Matt Jones, who I think is one of the best songwriters living, hands down, has put out a beautiful live concert video. Directed by Scott Allen, Lesser Birds, shot at Backstage Productions looks amazing and sounds even better. With Colette Alexander and Misty Lyn Bergeron, Matt brings out the best in his haunting, gorgeous songs. Watch this video, please. And then, as if you could help it, go buy his new album, Half Poison, Half Pure
